Final: Angels lose lead, then rally past Mariners, 9-7

SEATTLE – All’s well that ends well.

The Angels blew a four-run lead in the eighth inning, on the verge of one of their most disheartening losses of the season, before Albert Pujols saved the day.

Pujols hit a three-run homer against Seattle Mariners closer Steve Cishek in the ninth inning, lifting the Angels to a 9-7 victory on an emotional rollercoaster of a night.

The crowd of 42,038 was rocking Safeco Field after the Mariners scored five runs in the bottom of the eighth, torching the two hottest Angels relievers.

Cishek then entered for the ninth, looking to make up for blowing the game a night earlier.
