ARLINGTON, Texas -- Angels right fielder Kole Calhoun has a day off for the first time this season.
Calhoun, who has hit .290/.368/.407, was in the lineup for the first 44 games.
“You’re trying to refresh these guys that are playing every day,” Angels manager Mike Scioscia said.
Center fielder Mike Trout has also started the first 44 games. Rather than get an off-day, Scioscia said they may put Trout at designated hitter, “hopefully” for Tuesday’s game at Texas, he said.
"If it’s a full day off he needs, fine," Scioscia said.
