Angels Kole Calhoun reaches arbitration by thinnest margin

When Kole Calhoun got called up to the majors on July 27, 2013, he had no idea how fortitous that would be.

Calhoun, who has remained in the big leagues ever since that promotion, has two years, 130 days of service time, which proved to be the exact threshold for Super Two status when the numbers were revealed on Wednesday.

Players who have more than three years years of service time, but aren't yet free agents, are be eligible for salary arbitration. The players in the top 22 percent of the service time hierarchy among those with between two and three years are also eligible.
