Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed the reason why he didn't spend any of Philippe Coutinho's £145million transfer fee following the Brazilian's move to Barcelona.
The German boss believes the money Liverpool received from the Catalan club only hindered them after all of their transfer targets' prices began to inflate once the move was confirmed.
Klopp feels his employers could have done something before the window closed but he was adamant the club needed the right player for the right price.
'Yes, we could have done something,' said the Liverpool boss.
