Champions League draw 2017/18: Best and worst case group stage scenarios for Premier League clubs

Thanks to Manchester United's Europa League final victory, there is the possibility of having five Premier League clubs in the Champions League group stage next season.

Liverpool must face a qualifying round play-off to reach the group stage, where they would join United, Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester City in the draw.

For the group stages, teams are placed in four pots of eight clubs, with pot one containing the champions from the eight highest-ranked leagues.

Pot two contains the eight highest ranked clubs – based on UEFA co-efficient scores – from the remaining teams, with the next best eight in pot three and the lowest ranked in pot four.
