Leicester City consider improved £15m bid for Jonny Evans but West Brom determined to stand firm

Leicester City are considering an improved £15million bid for West Bromwich Albion defender Jonny Evans after seeing their opening offer of £10m rejected last week.

It is believed Leicester launched the first bid before Hull accepted a deal worth £17m for Harry Maguire but head coach Craig Shakespeare still believes there is room for the Northern Ireland international in his squad.

With Wes Morgan and Robert Huth boasting a combined age of 65, a new defensive partnership is sought at the King Power Stadium ahead of next season.

The Baggies have previously insisted that they have no interest in selling Evans and have so far refused to set an asking price as they dig in their heels over the centre back.
