Role and expectations for David Sharpe

Over the course of the past five years, Reggie McKenzie has built one of the NFL’s best offensive lines. He’s done so both via the draft with Gabe Jackson and through free agency with Rodney Hudson, Donald Penn, and Kelechi Osemele. However, there is one glaring hole along line, which has been a revolving door during McKenzie’s tenure — right tackle.

With Austin Howard, Marshall Newhouse, Denver Kirkland and Vadal Alexander in the mix, it’s a crowded positional battle without a clear leader in the clubhouse. The Raiders are hoping that fourth-round pick (129th overall) Davie Sharpe can be the answer.
