It’s been a busy few days for Griff Whalen. Once considered “neck and neck” for the slot receiver job in Oakland, he suffered a turf toe injury in the third preseason game that ended those hopes.
In the past three days, Whalen was waived, cleared waivers and was placed on injured reserve, and was released from IR with an injury settlement. He is officially no longer with the team.
For that matter neither is Ryan Switzer with whom Whalen was supposed to be in that heated battle for the slot receiver job.
