UK leads UL-Lafayette 14-0 after one quarter of play. The Cats jumped out to a quick one-touchdown lead after Stanley “Boom” William’s 75-yard run on the Cats’ opening play in the New Commonwealth Stadium.
The run was a career-long for Williams, who finished the quarter with two carries for 77 yards.
Patrick Towles connected with receiver Garrett Johnson for a 35-yard touchdown pass midway through the quarter. Towles finished the quarter 5-for-8 for 159 yards and one touchdown.
