Rick Pitino has agreed to deal to become next head coach at St. John's

The worst-kept secret in college basketball is finally official. Rick Pitino is returning for his third stint in the Big East.

ESPN’s Pete Thamel and Adrian Wojnarowski are reporting that the Iona head coach has agreed to terms on a six-year deal to be the head men’s basketball coach at St. John’s.

ESPN Reporting with @PeteThamel: Iona’s Rick Pitino has agreed on a six-year deal to become St. John’s coach. Pitino’s taken three schools to the Final Four, won NCAA titles at Kentucky and Louisville and now makes move to restore the Red Storm to Big East prominence.
