First and foremost, Reid Travis got to play significant minutes, enough to prepare him for the NCAA Tournament. Calipari would not admit it beforehand, but that was probably his greatest worry going into the weekend.
“Oh yeah, it would’ve been hard without him playing in a game. Whew! It would’ve been like — that was my worry,” Calipari told reporters at his home following the Selection Sunday Show.
The loss could be considered a gut-punch, but Cal sees it differently.
“When I look at the stats, I can’t believe we lost that game,” he told his team.
