Kent State women's track and field's Danniel Thomas and Sam Tollerud have been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-District® 5 Team as announced by CoSIDA on Thursday, May 25.
Thomas is a first-year graduate student from Westmoreland, Jamaica, and owns a 3.67 grade point average in Kent State's sports and recreation management program. Along with being named Academic All-Mid-American Conference and a MAC Distinguished Scholar-Athlete this year, Thomas was a co-recipient of Kent State's Janet Bachna Award.
So far in 2017, Thomas has further cemented herself as one of the greats in Kent State track and field history, taking second-place in the shot put at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships, earning USTFCCCA All-Region honors and winning three MAC Championships (indoor shot, outdoor shot put and outdoor discus).
