WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Kent State soccer team fell in its 2017 season opener 2-1 to the Purdue Boilermakers on Friday evening at Folk Field. The match was tied at one at halftime, and the Boilermakers scored the go-ahead goal in the final period.
Purdue got the scoring started off in the 24th minute as Andrea Petrina slid a shot into the net from the right flank.
Kent State tied the match at one in the 42nd minute when Mackenzie Lesnick served a corner kick along the goal line and it ricocheted off a Boilermaker and into the net.
