On the record: UA men’s soccer team blanks Ohio State 2-0

Freshmen Jonathan Lewis and Nick Hinds each scored a goal in the first half to lift the No. 24-ranked University of Akron men’s soccer team to a 2-0 win over host Ohio State Wednesday.

Lewis recorded his first career goal as Zip just five minutes into the first half. Hinds added the insurance goal midway through the first half, securing the win for the Zips (8-5-2, 2-1 Mid-American Conference).

The Zips out-shot the Buckeyes 15-8, and sophomore goalkeeper Ben Lundt made one save en route to the shutout victory.
