On the record: KSU women win 19th consecutive MAC golf tournament title

Kent State’s women’s golf team won its 19th consecutive Mid-American Conference Women’s Golf Championship Sunday at the Silver Lake Country Club.

The Golden Flashes, who have won every championship tournament put on by the MAC, took the 2017 crown by 34 strokes. The tournament hosts posted a final score of 11-over par 875 (289-299-288). Northern Illinois was second at 45-over par. The University of Akron was sixth.

KSU took the top four overall, led by medalist Michaela Finn. Finn finished 2-under par. MAC Golfer of the Year Pimnipa Panthong finished second, 3 strokes behind. Karoline Stormo was third (4 over) and Wad Paewchimplee (8 over) rounded out KSU’s top four scorers.
