The Akron softball team dropped a 3-0 decision Saturday in its series rubber match at Northern Illinois.
The Zips (12-15, 1-2) only managed two hits off opposing starter Alex Frenz. The sophomore right-hander went the distance, striking out three and walking two for the Huskies (13-11, 2-1).
Savannah Fruin doubled and stole a base for Akron.
