The Kent State University family mourns the tragic loss of one of our student-athletes, freshman football player Tyler Heintz.
"We are deeply saddened by the loss," said head coach Paul Haynes. "Tyler was an unselfish young man who exemplifies everything we look for in a Golden Flash. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends."

Tyler was transported to a local hospital by paramedics Tuesday morning following football conditioning drills at Dix Stadium.
