Fraga Punches Ticket to Eugene

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kent State track and field's Samory Fraga clinched a spot in the 2017 NCAA Track and Field Championships, as he took 11th in the long jump Thursday at the NCAA East Prelims hosted by the University of Kentucky.

Fraga, a sophomore from Porto Alegre, Brazil, earned his first bid to Tracktown USA by jumping 7.49m (24' 7") to finish 11th out of 48-man field. Fraga will look to become the first male in Kent State track and field history to earn All-America honors in the long.

Also competing in the rainy conditions Thursday was Taylor Farquhar in the first round of the 400m hurdles.
