KENT- Kent State defensive coordinator David Duggan is stepping down, taking a high school football head coaching position at Jackson Academy near his family in Jackson, Mississippi.

"We want to thank Coach Duggan for his contributions and commitment to our program over the past year," head coach Kenni Burns said. "We commend his decision and desire to move closer to family and he will always be a member of our Kent GRIT family."

Duggan joined the Kent GRIT family in January 2023 as defensive coordinator and linebackers coach. He guided defensive lineman CJ West to All-Conference honors while Bryce Sheppert was among the conference leaders in passes defended and total tackles.
