Local sports briefs for July 15: Rattlers, Senators postponed to Friday

The Rossville Rattlers and Topeka Senators played an inning and a half Wednesday before lightning and rain postponed the action. The Mid-Plains League game will resume at 3 p.m. Friday at Jerry Robertson Field with the Rattlers leading 3-0.

Michael Higgins, Collin Scribner, and Jeff Christen all drove in single runs for Rossville.

The Rattlers, fighting for postseason seeding, will follow the completed game Friday with a 7 p.m. game against the Topeka Golden Giants.

FORMER K-STATE PLAYERS WATERS, SEXTON TO HOST FOOTBALL CAMP AT WASHBURN THURSDAY: Former Kansas State players Jake Waters and Curry Sexton will host a football camp as part of Kansas Gridiron Greats on Thursday at Washburn’s Yager Stadium.
