K-State up to 18 commitments in football recruiting class

Kansas State lost out on one of its top targets in the 2017 football recruiting class when Evan Fields announced he will sign with Arizona State, but the Wildcats did land two defensive backs.

Fields is a four-star safety from Midwest City, Okla. He made his announcement Monday morning at his high school, sitting at a table with caps from six schools in front of him: Oregon, Arizona State, K-State, UCLA, Notre Dame and TCU. After shuffling through the caps, he put on the Arizona State cap.

K-State added two commitments after on-campus visits this past weekend, the final push before the signing period begins Wednesday.
