K-State unable to sustain early home court energy

MANHATTAN — Teams generally play better at home, the theory being the players feed off the energy of the crowd.

The energy infusion actually should be just the opposite, according to Kansas State basketball coach Bruce Weber. Play hard early, get the crowd involved and keep going.

The Wildcats were electric at the start Wednesday, sharp on offense and defense to build a 14-point first-half lead against Oklahoma State. The Bramlage Coliseum crowd, far from capacity, was actively involved but K-State didn’t keep them plugged in.

The Cowboys used a 14-0 run to tie the score, leaving K-State with a one-point halftime lead.
