K-State assistant Hoyt to take head coaching job at UMKC

Kansas State women’s basketball assistant coach Jacie Hoyt reportedly will be named the head coach at UMKC, according to media reports. Neither UMKC or Hoyt have announced the move.

Hoyt, a Hoxie native, served under K-State head coach Jeff Mittie for three seasons and was known for recruiting. She played at Wichita State and was an assistant at Nevada before joining Mittie’s staff. UMKC fired Marsha Frese on March 15. Frese had a 47-101 record in five years and led the Kangaroos to a 10-19 (4-10 WAC) record last season.
