Justin Edwards carries offensive load for K-State in loss to KU

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas State has been desperate to identify a go-to scorer all season, and Justin Edwards stepped up to fill that role Thursday.

The problem was there was really no one else to go to.

Edwards scored his K-State career high with 23 points, but the other Wildcats struggled in an 85-63 loss to No. 1 Kansas in the Big 12 Tournament quarterfinals at Sprint Center.

“When you’re making shots, you want to continue shooting,” said Edwards, who was 9 of 15 overall and 5 of 7 from 3-point range. “Today I just had the hot hand and I was making shots.
