Brown impressed by K-State’s growth

When Larry Brown went to Dodge City to play football in 1965, he had to adjust to a fear of tornadoes and the unfamiliar smell of feed yards.

Moving to Kansas from Clairton, Pa., just out side of Pittsburgh, was a big change for Brown, but he has fond memories of the time he spent playing football at Dodge City Community College and eventually Kansas State for two seasons, 1967-68.

But after Brown left Manhattan in 1969 following the NFL Draft — selected 191st by the Washington Redskins — he never returned to the Little Apple again.
