Kansas State promotes Jacie Hoyt-Capra to assistant women’s basketball coach

Jacie Hoyt-Capra is the newest assistant coach for the Kansas State women’s basketball team.

Hoty-Capra, a Hoxie native who played at Wichita State, was promoted to the position Thursday. She was serving as the team’s coordinator of recruiting operations under Jeff Mittie.

Mittie hired Hoyt-Capra last year following a three-year stint as a Nevada assistant under former Wichita State coach Jane Albright.

Hoyt-Capra had a distinguished high school career before playing at Wichita State. She was a three-time all-class performer in volleyball and basketball at Hoxie High. As a senior, she averaged 28.4 points.

The Wildcats are coming off a 19-14 season in which they qualified for the WNIT.
