LAWRENCE — Landen Lucas believes playing West Virginia is a bit like being scared of your shadow.
Not only does the “Press Virginia” style force turnovers when the Mountaineers pressure, but it also causes hesitation even when they don’t.
“They get into your head a little bit,” the KU forward said.
Lucas could see it clearly when watching tape of KU’s 74-63 loss at WVU from Jan. 12. There were times when KU’s players were tentative even when they shouldn’t have been.
“You’ll be in the middle of a play, looking for somebody to come trap you,” Lucas said.
