Kansas’ basketball season ended in the Elite Eight for the second straight season as Oregon beat KU 74-60 on Saturday night at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Mo.
Oregon took control late in the first half, went to halftime with an 11-point lead and never let Kansas get closer in the second half until the 7:10 mark. KU didn’t get the deficit under 10 until 4:20 remained. KU’s defense clamped down on Oregon in the second half, but the Jayhawks struggled to make shots, missing their first nine three-point tries.
Still, KU had a chance.
A corner three-pointer by Svi Mykhailiuk pulled KU within 66-60 at 2:49.
