KU basketball’s Dedric Lawson accused of skipping out on $88 restaurant bill

A waitress at a Memphis restaurant has accused Kansas basketball player Dedric Lawson of skipping out on a nearly $100 tab.

According to a police report obtained by Fox 13 in Memphis, Lawson rung up a tab of $88.20 while dining at Bar Louie in Overton Square at around 1:30 a.m. Thursday. His waitress told police he then left without paying and added she knows Lawson because the two attended the same high school.

Thursday afternoon, Lawson appeared on 92.9 FM ESPN in Memphis to deny the allegations.

“I only ordered two drinks,” Lawson said, “and I paid for those drinks.
