First Team All-Big 12 safety Fish Smithson is on his way to Washington after signing an offer from the Redskins. He’ll head to camp with the opportunity to compete for a roster spot.
Smithson came to KU from the Juco ranks and was a free safety at Kansas. He originally signed with Navy before attending Hartnell College his freshman year. After transferring to KU, he played in every game his final three seasons at Kansas, and started every game his junior and senior years. His senior season at KU was impressive enough to see Fish named First Team All-Big 12.
