LAWRENCE — The habit hasn’t changed for Cheick Diallo, even though teammates have accused him of being annoying in the past.
On Sunday, just after KU’s basketball practice, the freshman texted coach Bill Self to ask how he did. Diallo frequently went through the same routine with his high school coach in previous years.
“I just want to learn from my mistakes,” Diallo said. “I just want to keep asking, even if he’s mad at me.”
Self was amused by Sunday’s message. Diallo had been one of KU’s best players in workouts, so the 6-foot-9 forward knew ahead of time he likely was going to get a good report.
