LAWRENCE — A Big 12 champion for the first time in program history last season, the Kansas volleyball team had a lot to be proud of.
As KU coach Ray Bechard and some of his top players contend, though, perhaps too much pride came before the Jayhawks’ season-ending fall.
“I think the effort we put into winning the Big 12, we’ll do a better job of putting that away,” Bechard said at Wednesday afternoon’s fall sports media day. “The real fun starts with the NCAA Tournament, and I’m not sure we did a great job as a staff or as a program in putting the Big 12 to bed and moving on to the NCAA Tournament.
