Local sports briefs for May 22, 2015: Deadline nears for Topeka Jayhawk Club scramble

The deadline to sign up for the Topeka Jayhawk Club four-person scramble June 8 at Shawnee Country Club is approaching. Expected guests include athletic director Sheahon Zenger and coaches Bill Sell and David Beaty.

Cost is $100 for club members and $110 for non-members. Entry forms can be found at local golf shops or online at TopekaJayhawkClub.com. 

K-STATE TRACK ATHLETES WIN BIG 12 HONORS: Kansas State’s Christoff Bryan and A’Keyla Mitchell were honored by the Big 12 on Thursday.

Bryan was named the conference’s outstanding freshmen of the year on the men’s side, and Mitchell took home the honor on the women’s side.
