Kansas football lands commitment from Texas high school safety

LAWRENCE — Kansas football coach David Beaty landed the fifth known commitment of his 2016 recruiting class, picking up a verbal pledge from high school safety Michael Clark of Cedar Hill, Texas.

The news was first reported by Jon Kirby of Rivals.com.

Clark, a 6-foot-2 safety, told Rivals that he had begun to hear from a list of schools that included K-State and Houston. The Jayhawks, though, were the first school to offer a scholarship.

Clark is entering his senior season at Cedar Hill, a school that produced former KU football players Dezmon Briscoe, Greg Brown and Marcus Herford.
