Friday was the non-tender deadline, the last day teams could decide to tender their arbitration-eligible players, or non-tender them, making them free agents. The Royals had no difficult decisions to make as they had already jettisoned their non-tender candidates - Dillon Gee, Tony Cruz, and Tim Collins.

Some of the non-tendered players - Jacob Lindgren, Seth Maness, Erik Johnson, Rubby de la Rosa - have injury concerns that may jeopardize their season next year. But there are a few healthy players who might be able to help the Royals out in 2017.
