Jason Vargas leaves start with apparent injury

Throwing elbow is the likely culprit in first start back from the DL.

Upon throwing pitch number 26 of the evening, Jason Vargas looked down at his throwing arm, which seemed to gingerly recoil after uncorking a changeup, and gestured to the dugout implying that his night was over.

This was Vargas's first start back from the disabled list after rehabbing in the minors from a flexor strain in his throwing elbow.

Having spent two separate stretches on the disabled list already this season with elbow injuries, the initial concern is obviously that Tommy John surgery is in the cards for the Royals hurler.
