Report: Jaguars trade Josh Scobee to Pittsburgh

The Jaguars have traded kicker Josh Scobee to the Pittsburgh Steelers. The compensation was unavailable. Scobee confirmed the trade to Jeff Prosser of 1010XL.

The Jaguars had no comment.

The Steelers don't have a fifth-round pick in 2016, having already traded that to Philadelphia for cornerback Brandon Boykin.

Scobee was the longest-tenured Jaguars player, joining the team in 2004 as a fourth-round pick from Louisiana Tech.

Scobee’s depature means the kicking job belongs to rookie Jason Myers, a significant gamble for the victory-starved Jaguars to put an inexperienced kicker in pressure situations.

Scobee leaves the Jaguars as the franchise leader in field goals (235) and points scored (1,022).
