Jaguars tickets given to council members raise ethics concerns

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Some Jacksonville City Council members are having to pay the Jaguars after they accepted tickets worth more than ethics rules allow.

The First Coast News Investigators have learned that freebies to council members are supposed to go through the council president's office. But the tickets did not.

Council members can only accept a gift valued under $100. While tickets to Jaguars owner Shad Khan's private suite cost more than that, the city ethics office isn't certainly exactly how much they're worth.

Council members, who are considering millions in upgrades for EverBank Field, will have to pay the team the difference.
