Jaguars RG Brandon Linder heading to injured reserve

As if their 1-3 record isn’t enough cause for concern, the Jaguars were dealt a major injury setback today. Right guard Brandon Linder will be placed on injured reserve (ending his season) because of a shoulder injury.

The team announced that Linder sustained a labrum tear and will require surgery.

Linder, the Jaguars’ best offensive lineman last year as a rookie, was initially injured in practice Sept. 23. He played four days later at New England but was shut down last week and did not play at Indianapolis.

Rookie third-round pick A.J. Cann, the back-up left guard, started in Linder’s place against the Colts and is the assumed full-time replacement.
