Jaguars cut RB Storm Johnson

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Jaguars waived former seventh round pick Storm Johnson on Friday afternoon.

The former Central Florida running back had struggled throughout the summer and was buried behind rookie Corey Grant and veteran Bernard Pierce on the depth chart.

Johnson averaged 0.9 yards per carry during the preseason. On 20 carries, Johnson produced just 18 rushing yards. He also added 21 yards on four receptions.

As a rookie, Johnson rushed for 86 yards and three touchdowns on 29 carries (3.0 YPC) in six games (one start).

Johnson will be subject to waivers, where another team can claim him over the next 24 hours.
