JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Former Jaguars receiver Cecil Shorts III might be a member of the Jags' AFC South rival Houston Texans now, but that hasn't kept him from staying involved in trying to help families in need on the First Coast.
Shorts III was back in town, Thursday, taking part in The United Way's Backpack Challenge, which is a program set up to gather school supplies for families in need for the upcoming school year.
Fans came out to the Mellow Mushroom in Avondale to meet Shorts III and donate everything from Backpacks to pencils. Shorts III spent time with the fans, signing autographs and taking pictures.
