Alualu likes his role with Jaguars

Tyson Alualu wasn’t surprised that general manager Dave Caldwell and coach Gus Bradley took a wrecking ball to the Jaguars’ roster when they were hired in 2013.

“When new coaches or new people come in, they’re always going to bring in their own guys,’’ Alualu said.

He didn’t know where he stood when his five-year rookie contract expired at the end of last year.

He wanted to stay, but he had to find out if the feeling was mutual. When the Jaguars showed interest, he quickly signed a two-year, $6 million deal.

“I definitely wanted to be back,’’ he said.
