When it comes to drafting tight ends, it's best to wait

Recent history suggests waiting until after the first round to draft a tight end is the right move.

2010: Rob Gronkowski and Jimmy Graham in the second and third rounds, respectively.

2011: Julius Thomas and Jordan Cameron in the fourth round and Charles Clay in the sixth.

2012: Coby Fleener in the second round and teammate Dwayne Allen in the third.

2013: Zach Ertz in the second round and Jordan Reed in the third.

2014: Three tight ends apiece in rounds 2 and 3.
