Jaguars second year running back Storm Johnson, who missed the first day of training camp Friday on the non-football injury list, said he expects to return to the field next week.

But Johnson, who isn’t required to talk to the media while he’s on the list, said, “I’d rather talk about it when I get back on the field.’’

Coach Gus Bradley didn’t disclose what illness he’s suffering, but said he’s “day to day.’’

He added, “Once he gets cleared from the training staff, then he’ll be ready to go.’’

Johnson, a seventh round draft pick a year ago, is trying to win a roster spot after carrying just 29 times in his rookie season for 86 yards.
