Women’s Basketball: Cyclones struggle offensively again in loss to No. 24 West Virginia

Jadda Buckley and Seanna Johnson combined to score 36 points on Wednesday night against No. 24 West Virginia. Their efforts were welcomed, as Iowa State women’s basketball coach Bill Fennelly knew his go-to players needed to play well if the Cyclones were going to pull an upset.

The problem, though, was that the rest of ISU combined to score just 11 points on 9-of-31 shooting. That lack of execution led to a Mountaineers’ victory, while the Cyclones are now losers in seven of eight.

West Virginia muscled out a 57-47 win over ISU. The result came because the Cyclones shot a combined 24.
