Football: Campbell arrives in Ames

Iowa State football coach Matt Campbell made touchdown in Ames, shortly after 5 p.m. on Sunday. The ISU plane that took him from Toledo to Iowa landed softly and slowly made its way to a hanger with athletic director Jamie Pollard and two cars waiting.

When the plane stopped, Pollard got onto it. Shortly after, Pollard got off, followed by Campbell. A minute later the rest of Campbell’s family, including father and mother-in-law, were exchanging pleasantries with the Pollard family.

While the families headed to the cars, Campbell walked over to the media standing nearby and offered up his first 44 words as Cyclone coach.
