WR Jonathan Parker To Miss Significant Time

Head coach Kirk Ferentz told the media that wide receiver Jonathan Parker will miss 6-8 weeks with a foot injury. This means Parker will miss the rest of the offseason workouts and possibly all three non-conference games.

This is a huge blow for the Hawkeyes as they were already thin at the receiver position with Matt VandeBerg coming in as their only experienced receiver. Parker was listed as VandeBerg’s backup, and is a likely starter as a senior next season.

Parker is a running back turned receiver and had a significant role as the kickoff returner as a freshman.
