IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The University of Iowa softball program hosts its fourth annual Awareness Game this Saturday, April 23, when Penn State visits Bob Pearl Field. First pitch is set for 2 p.m. (CT). The first 100 fans will receive a free Awareness Day t-shirt.
The Hawkeyes have volunteered with seven local organizations -- Hope Lodge, UI REACH, Big Brothers Big Sisters, VA Medical Center, Iowa City Animal Center, Grant Wood Area Education Agency, and Ronald McDonald House -- throughout the year. The team will honor those organizations at the annual game, which is designed to bring awareness to the great things each organization does in the community.
