Argentina FA fined over $100,000 for fan violence & homophobia in Croatia clash

FIFA has fined Argentina's football assocation £80,000 ($105,000) after their fans engaged in a series of offensive behaviours in their defeat to Croatia on Thursday.

Argentine fans at the Nizhny Novgorod stadium were caught on camera fighting opposing supporters, throwing objects, and participating in homophobic and insulting chants.

In addition, FIFA charged that the Albiceleste failed to attend mandatory post-game interviews following the 3-0 defeat to their Group D rivals.

FIFA's policy is to hold federations responsible for the behaviour of fans at World Cup stadiums.

Already, FIFA has fined the Mexican FA for their supporters' "discriminatory and insulting chants" at Russia 2018.
