Stevan Ridley, Nate Irving gone as Colts trim roster to 53

2:29 p.m.: The Colts have announced their final cuts to get their roster to the mandated limit of 53 players.

There's a shocker and a handful of surprises. Veteran inside linebacker Nate Irving was released, a move no one saw coming. The Colts instead kept their young inside linebackers, Antonio Morrison, Josh McNary and Edwin Jackson.

The Colts also (for now) are keeping three quarterbacks, something that never would have seemed possible before Stephen Morris' surprising success in the preseason. He survived the cuts but let's see whether the Colts try to trade him or cut him later.
